Amanda Markmann

Service Design Thinker. Creative Director. Strategic Visual Communicator. Total Brand Nerd. For over 20 years, Amanda has transformed organizations, ideas and brands into successful, eye-catching and award-winning traditional and digital campaigns. She sees every communication challenge as an opportunity to connect with audiences and make an impact with design.

Amanda is a Design Director at Fjord, Part of Accenture Song. As a design leader in the North America market, she evangelizes integrated design as both a discipline and a practice on a global scale. From service design to interactive + visual design to design research, Amanda strives to uphold Fjord’s goal of making people’s lives better by creating meaningful digital and physical products, services and experiences they love.

While at Marriott, she led and championed design and UX strategy for Loyalty product and the new Digital Merchandising Experience team, ensuring that initiatives are being implemented across all digital platforms seamlessly for over 150 million users.

At Adfero, Amanda built and led the creative and UX capabilities—everything from ideation to execution of branding and media campaigns to designing human centered initiatives to achieve business objectives and drive results. She brought Design Thinking methodologies into each agency’s communication approach to inspire and engage users, as well as a customizable branding process to fit any client's needs.

Amanda has worked with start-ups as well as Fortune 100 companies, including Marriott, Intel, Microsoft, Dominion, Chase, AT&T, Delta, Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, The Mayflower Hotel, The St. James and more. Amanda also ran her own company for three years, BRAND IT OUT, where she developed and facilitated branding processes with clients. She remains active in the industry community as a member of AAF DC and AIGA's DC chapter, participating in events and speaking on panels about design, women's initiatives and creative leadership.
